Dear Lee:

I write this letter as a short summary of our business relationship, so far. (I certainly expect it to continue into the future.) I expect you will share this letter with potential clients who may be unaware of your technical skills and professional work.

IRE contracted to have Craftech develop a Windows NT driver to allow applications to access the functionality of our crypto circuit board designed to plug into a PCI slot on a PC or other host.

Because your driver was developed simultaneously with the board, this effort faced the extra challenges of unknown and continually changing requirements as well as the scarcity of functioning hardware upon which to test the driver.

In short, I have been extremely pleased with the way the driver project unfolded. From the earliest deliveries, the driver software worked as required. You managed to get the driver working even when our boards did not work. It is noteworthy that you managed to accommodate, with very short development intervals, our sporadic updates to our requirements and our urgent need for driver changes to deal with the hardware changes.

As you recall, we asked first for a "quick-and-dirty" driver that our in-house test software could use to exercise our board. We used this driver extensively to check out our hardware. However, it worked so well that we released it (to a few of our OEM customers who use it for product evaluation).

The second phase work of the work required that the driver be callable from another Windows NT driver already running with high priority in the NT kernel. This driver is to be more product quality than the original one. As you know, the driver for this work is not yet complete, but intermediate deliveries seem to have solved most of the very difficult issues that arose in this environment.

We selected Craftech because the work required in-depth knowledge of Windows NT driver development, and Craftech came highly recommended. We add our voice t those recommendations, too. Craftech not only did what was asked but joined in the overall system design as a team member. Craftech development was done exclusively off site; debugging was necessary at our site only once, and you came in on a weekend and got the job done.

Craftech has demonstrated complete professionalism and excellent ability to work with our people throughout this project.

Sincerely,
